JJ007 John & Joe

First and Foremost our rocket is (or was) called JJ007 it was the first in line to be painted and it had four fins however on of them fell off in mid-air. Our rocket did very well, managing an average height of about 80 metres. It took 5 - 6 weeks to make however thanks to John (I could not have done it without him) we managed to finish it a week earlier than most other groups. We decided it would be good to have a well streamlined rocket to help it fly through the air and decrease air resistance. As a result our rocket went up, unlike some that went sideways.

We could have made our rocket even better if we would have had access to even more resources and also if the parachute would have released.

John now has the rocket in his home, in his front room I believe.

Yoshi - Beatrice and Agnes

Firstly our rocket is called Yoshi. Our design was unique to all the other rockets because it had 6 fins not 3 or 4. We chose that because we thought it would increase the height our rocket flew. Although our rocked did reach a height of 47.76 it wasn't the highest in the group. On the other hand ours was one of the only rockets that released its parachute. We and other members of STEM club came to a conclusion that this was because since we had a wider tube to hold the parachute the parachute could get out of the tubing easier. We spray painted our rocket metallic silver and green which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We enjoyed making the rockets the most. Overall the topic was fantastic and fascinating.

We would like to say well done to all the groups that took part and thank you to all the teachers and year 10's that helped develop and make our rocket. Can't wait for the next topic!
